高三英語：表示“許多”的數(shù)詞用法

dozen 指"12”，score 則表示"20"，通常用dozens of 或 scores of 來表示“許多”。
He says he won't go there because he has been there dozens of times.
他說那里已去過好多次，所以這次就不去了。
I have been there scores of times.
我去過那里好多好多次。
注意：
1、dozen 和 score 表示精確數(shù)字時(shí)不能用復(fù)數(shù)形式。
比較：several dozens of eggs
two dozen of eggs [表精確數(shù)目，dozen用單數(shù)]
2、用作前置定語時(shí)，均須用單數(shù)，如：
many dozen of bottles of coca-cola 許多瓶可口可樂
four score and ten years 90 歲
3、要表示“十多個(gè)……”及“二十多個(gè)……”時(shí)，可用“a dozen or more……” 及 “a score or more……”：
A dozen or more students attended the seminar.
A score or more ( 或 Two dozen or more ) scholars attended the symposium.
